The Millhouse Wedding Planning Guidelines

Welcome Reception

Weather permitting, the wedding day Welcome Reception can be held outside in the courtyard, orchard or front lawn, or in the Millhouse drawing room or Cottage bars.

Drinks

Choose from Prosecco, Champagne, any Cocktail and any Punch, and/or allow a free bar up to a certain value e.g. €1,000 - €10,000.

Drinks are usually served from trays by circulating wait staff, or set up in garden/courtyard in iced baths or on long tables.

Canapes

Allow between €7 to €15 per selection, depending on your choices - this allows 4 canapes per person.

The quantity of canapes needed depends on time of day and length of reception and whether your guests have had lunch. Please download our wedding brochure for examples. Remember to allow for vegetarians, children and allergy sufferers and please note that we do not do tastings on canapes.

Wedding Meal

Barbeque menu starts from €40 per person, buffet menu from €40 per person, buffet or barbeque platters served to the table €45 per person and three-course sit-down dinner menu from €60 per person. (50% discount for children under 15.)Their are also wonderful discounted packages.

Remember to include options for vegetarians or vegans and allergy sufferers, exact numbers are required in advance.

Two choices will be provided for main course only. A tasting will be arranged 4 - 6 weeks before your wedding date with two choices of starter, two mains and two puddings with wine.

We are happy to arrange a marquee package for parties of over 120 people from €65 per person.

The Pavilion

The Pavilion can host up to  120 people  and the barn up to 200 people. Tents and marquees can also be added to the pavilion as all the doors open.

Wine

House wines start from €6 per glass. Allow a half bottle or a full bottle per person. (One bottle holds four glasses.)

Allow for non drinkers and children; non alcoholic fruit punch from €7 per person. Please download our wedding brochure to see a current wine list.

Late Refreshments

Cost varies depending on your choices from a cheese board to mini-canapes to toasted sandwiches miniature hamburgers, hot dogs or late night barbeque. Tea, coffee, hot chocolate, home made cookies, cheese platters with crusty bread and sandwiches available.

Toasts

Toasts can be arranged with the speeches before the wedding meal, between courses or after dinner. This is a personal choice and is totally up to you.

We do however recommend that you choose to do your speeches before or between courses so that everyone can fully relax and enjoy their meal, especially anyone dreading having to speak after the meal. It is best to have some idea on how many speeches will be made and how long they will take, to allow for drinks needed.

Toasts can be made with Champagne, Prosecco, cocktails or wine/drinks from the table.

Closing Time

The Millhouse closes at 2am and all music must be finished by that time. The residents bar is open to residents only from 2.30am.
