Events at The Millhouse

This Millhouse Writers Retreat provides an ideal environment for creative people to escape the distractions of every day life, and to focus on their artistic or writing projects.

From October to April, we dedicate our cosy Cottage Wing and Loft to a Writers & Artists retreat. All are welcome, whether working in a professional capacity, or on a creative hobby.

Our writer-in-residence is on hand to provide an editing service and guidance where required, while artists have access to a studio space overlooking the Boyne river.

Guests may work in their rooms or in the Loft. The top floor space also has a pool table, board-games and a multi-channel TV and DVD player for free time.

Our sauna, beauty and body treatments, DVD movie library and scenic walks are a great way to unwind from artistic endeavours and guests can enjoy a drink in the Millhouse drawing room after a hard day’s creating.

Writers retreat at The Millhouse

Workshops

From time to time we run workshops on creative writing, poetry, art, sculpture and music, which are also open to the public and are free of charge to our visiting writers and artists.

The Writers & Artists Retreat operates from October to April. Full board packages start from €500.
