Everyone who knows me, knows I’m completely in love with The Millhouse, Slane. It’s one of those special venues that is so beautifully quirky, mixed with the friendliest staff ever. Everyone feels at home in The Millhouse.
When Niall & Johanna booked me as their wedding photographer they had both agreed that they barely wanted even one photo of themselves. They were on the verge of not even getting a wedding photographer – that’s how much they despise being the centre of attention. I convinced them otherwise! Although both of them are shy, they completely trusted me and allowed me to roam freely around their wedding, capturing the day. I’m still welling up remembering their ‘first look’ before the candle-lit ceremony. There were SO MANY tears!!! I’m just relieved I got the photos in focus as we were all bawling!
Niall & Johanna did things a little differently on their wedding day. They both got ready in The Millhouse and did a ‘first look’, before having a wander around for photos with me. Knowing how much both Niall & Johanna hate getting their photo taken, I kept this to a minimum. They made my life so easy!! Complete naturals in front of the camera. After this, all their guests arrived and they had the drinks reception from 3pm-5pm. This was such a great idea as everyone was completely relaxed going into the ceremony at 5pm. The ceremony was filled with poems, music, laughter and LOTS of emotion from all their family and friends. So beautiful. Once it was over, everyone walked over to the pavillion for the wedding meal. Check out their amazing wedding cake table – a surprise gift from Niall’s sister-in-law.
I adored being a part of Niall & Johanna’s special day – thanks so much guys. XX
